Way Away is a short movie created and choreographed by Victor Mendes. It is Victor's first contact with creation in forms of video and performance. The shoots were done in a period of time when the idea of time itself was banded on a global scale.

Throughout the first lockdown in 2020 when contact with others became scary and a challenge, the only way out for the time being was to go in. To be alone for an artist it is one of the best ways to go out and create intelligent art. Being alone for an artist can be the most dangerous way to let the monsters come out and destroy your knowledge.

WayAway is a love letter to the ones we could not see, touch or be together in that time. It is a love letter to many dancers out there who had to be trapped inside and not be able to do what they love to do. It is a love letter for the ones who had to learn how to deal with themselves when the world had to stop that job for us.
