Hey gurl hey ! My name is
Victor Mendes,
I’m a Dancer & Performer based in Switzerland.

Victor Mendes, Brazilian dancer and performer based in Zürich, has been immersed in the world of arts from a young age. His journey began with the study of Classical Dance with mentors from the Royal Academy of Dance. However, Victor's passion for dance transcended conventional forms, leading him to explore diverse modalities of bodily expression.

Supported by a scholarship from the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation , Victor pursued his passion for contemporary dance at the Ballet Junior de Genève in Switzerland, where he graduated with distinction. Over the past seven years, Victor has established himself as a prominent figure in Europe's dance scene.

Collaborating and performing with renowned choreographers such as Hofesh Shechter, Tabea Martin, Barak Marshall, Nanine Linning, Alexander Ekman, Olivier Duboi, Dries Verhoeven, Maguy Marin, Dimitri Chamblas, Rachid Ouramdane, Thomas Hauert, Theo Clinkard, and others, he has showcased his talent across various platforms and stages.

Notable collaborations include working alongside esteemed artists such as Naomi Perlov and Dominique Duszynski in productions like Kontakthof by Pina Bausch. Victor values partnerships with artists who share his commitment to respect, cooperation, and the pure expression of dance. In 2021, Victor embarked on a journey as a freelance dancer/performer, splitting his time between Rotterdam and Zurich.

Embracing the fluidity of his movements, Victor dives into experimentation and research, seeking new avenues for artistic expression. He conceptualizes movements as roots for creation but not automatically as the starting point, emphasizing a unique approach to his craft. This year, he obtained a Master's degree in Teaching and Coaching Professional Dancers from the Zürich University of Arts.

Navigating the intricacies of freelancing life, Victor aims to create through various lenses, conceptualizing movements as the foundation for his creations but not as the starting point. His work extends beyond conventional boundaries, engaging diverse audiences and igniting conversations through international tours and collaborations with choreographers.
